Christchurch FC v Alton Town
Posted: Monday 8th October 2010

A goal conceded in the first 15 minutes and a slow start for Christchurch was the beginning to a well played match with opportunities for both teams. Christchurch picked up the pace to match Alton Town after conceding the goal and then steadily increased the pressure. The last 20 minutes of the match could have seen a flurry of goals for Christchurch had they all been on target and if the Alton Town goalie had not produced some superb saves. A flash of temper within minutes of the end of play saw Christchurch finishing with 10 men on the field.

Christchurch FC v Laverstock & Ford
Posted: Saturday 23rd October 2010

A blistering start from Christchurch and a superb goal from Colin Dand had us thinking that this one was in the bag. Determined and consistent play from Laverstock kept the match balanced and slowly it swung their way. An injury to Adam Costello seemed to be a turning point and whilst goal scoring opportunities still came our way none could find the target. Our guests found some holes and kept the pressure on and were rewarded for their efforts.

Christchurch FC v Lancing
Posted: Wednesday 6th October 2010

After Saturdays draw in this FA Vase Match the home ground replay was a bit of anti-climax. Good play from both teams was met by strong opposition with few goal scoring opportunities for either team. A penalty for Lancing gave them a one goal advantage which they kept to take the match. We wish Lancing good fortune in the competition.

Marc Burrows Fun Day
Posted: Sunday 5th September 2010

What looked like being a wet day turned into a glorious end of summer sparkler for the second Marc Burrows Memorial Day. A fun challenge match featuring many of Marc's former team mates got the day started. Plenty for the kids to do and a bit to eat and drink - what more could we ask for. A big thank you to all for travelling and making this a great day which has raised a significant sum for a very worthwhile charity. Featured are Marc's parents presenting the Man of the Match award.

Poole Town v Christchurch FC
Posted: Tuesday 10th August 2010

This will be one of those matches that will be a talking point in years to come. Christchurch were losing and it looked like a result was on the cards which would be a low point for the season. Poole Town had produced a 5-0 lead in the first 35 minutes and Christchurch supporters heads were hanging. There were no heads hanging on the field though and a very on form Mark Smith opened the score for Christchurch with a neat chip over the Poole Town keeper. This opened the flood gates and two further goals quickly followed.

Both teams tightened their defense for the second half but Christchurch were on a roll and kept the pressure on the Poole defense. A fourth goal for Christchurch put the match into overdrive with determined play from both teams. A 5-4 result was better than we could have hoped for but it was not over yet. With seconds to go Christchurch secured the draw with the fifth goal. A superb come back and a great result.

Christchurch FC Reserves v Gosport Borough
Posted: Friday 30th April 2010

An early two goal lead had fans and players smiling in this Sydenhams Wessex League Combination Cup Final. It was always going to be a close match with both teams in good form and both teams having impressive league reuslts this season. How close it would be was going to provide an evening of superb football. Christchurch hung onto the lead until the final minutes of full time when an equaliser by Gosport brought extra time. A win by Gosport on penalties had not seemed on the cards earlier but that is how the evening was to end. Full credit to our opponents who kept their heads up in the early stages when lesser teams would have struggled with a two goal difference against them.

Christchurch FC v Poole Town
Posted: Saturday 17th April 2010

An early injury to Christchurch keeper Stewart Kearn and two quick goals by Poole Town looked to have set the scene for the afternoon. A strong come back by Christchurch resulted in an entertaining afternoonof football with superb goals and enough drama to keep all eyes on the play.

CFC v New Milton Town - 2nd February
Posted: Tuesday 2nd February 2010

Watching this match you would have thought that New Milton Town had the run of the game. Thinking about it afterwards they had a superb game and there was some excellent finishing, never a wasted opportunity and great defending and keeping. But was the match as one sided as it appeared? It was not for a lack of trying by the Christchurch team and there were some good shots at goal that we would have usually expected to find the back of the net. Disappointing for Christchurch and well done to New Milton.
At the end of the day 'thats football'.
