Brockenhurst FC v Christchurch FC – 2nd March 2019

Sydenhams Football League (Wessex)

Saturday 2 March 2019

A draw was probably a fair result overall with Brockenhurst perhaps shading the first half, but Christchurch were more positive in the second half.

In the first minute, a through ball from Ash Pope found Max Wilcock, but his shot was saved by the Brockenhurst goalkeeper and cleared upfield.  Brockenhurst then took the initiative, but several attacks were adequately dealt with by Max Frampton and the Christchurch defence.  Interplay between Max Wilcock, Dan Haynes and Harvey Wright led to a shot by Ash Pope which was off target.  More attacks by Brockenhurst followed but none of these troubled Max Frampton in the Christchurch goal.  The half finished with the scores level at 0-0.

Christchurch started the second half more strongly and various passing moves involving Max Wilcock, Ben Satterley, Lucas Murrain, Ash Pope, Josh Kirkham and Harvey Wright came to nothing in the end.  Scott Rogers then got into the act and found Max Wilcock whose shot was saved by the home ‘keeper, before a corner on the right from Ash Pope was headed over the bar by Kieran Douglas.  Another corner from Ash Pope was cleared but rebounded to Lucas Murrain, who shot wide of goal.  A flurry of substitutes by both sides failed to break the deadlock and the game finished goalless.

Christchurch – Frampton, Rogers, Wright, Walker, Douglas, Satterley B (Cherrett 88), Pope (Swann 74), Haynes D, Murrain (Whitehouse 67), Wilcock, Kirkham.  Unused subs – Bishop, Robinson
